Good Faith Estimate
Under the law, as of January 1, 2022, health care providers are required to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy. This is called a Good Faith Estimate (GFE)
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost.
-
If you are paying out-of-pocket (self-pay) or not using insurance, you will be provided with a GFE in writing before your services begin.
-
The GFE will include anticipated costs for services you may receive during the course of treatment.
-
You can request a Good Faith Estimate at any time from Lakeview Counseling Services, before or during treatment.
-
The GFE is not a bill. Actual charges may vary based on your individual needs and goals for therapy.
-
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
