Chris Howard-Swan

Women's Mental Health Specialist

Chris Howard-Swan, LSW- therapist at Lakeview Counseling Services

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

"What would it feel like to live from a place of balance, boundaries, and self-trust?"

Do you ever feel like you've lost touch with your own voice while caring for everyone else?

Let’s work together to help you reclaim your inner wisdom and speak your truth.

Are you craving a space where you can be fully seen, heard, and supported as a woman—without judgment?
You deserve a safe and nurturing environment where your healing is honored.

What would it feel like to live from a place of balance, boundaries, and self-trust?
I’ll walk beside you as you rediscover your strength and reconnect with your authentic self.

My goal is to provide a  woman-centered safe space and support where my clients can feel seen, heard, and understood. I will offer tools to help my clients find balance, boundaries, personal insight and a strong connection to their own voice and wisdom. I am committed to supporting women of all ages and in all walks of life in finding their innate female power.

For 13+ years I have been involved in the mental health field.  I have worked in social services, providing advocacy, counseling, case management and crisis intervention for people with mental illness and substance dependence. I am trauma informed and I have experience in mindfulness meditation, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and CBT techniques. I utilize an integrative approach that considers mind, body and spirit.

I hold a Masters degree in Social Work from Aurora University and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology.  I have also invested 15 years of training in Women’s Circle work. This specific model has been developed by Marilyn Dam-Rabolt, BSN, MSN and utilizes a feminine-centered leadership framework that is relational, collaborative, culturally diverse, inter-generational and appreciative of differences. The mission of this work is to develop experiential learning communities for women that are structured to promote self awareness, self accountability and self-leadership skills training.

I am a lifelong learner and seeker, and a mother of two young adults. I enjoy music, hiking, kayaking, cooking, and spending time with friends, family and my two dogs and cat.
