Ana Maroon, LCPC Ana is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology; and earned a Master’s in Community Counseling from Loyola University-Chicago. She began as a therapist intern in Chicago at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital working with children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient setting. After receiving her Master’s Degree she continued to work in community settings providing both adults and adolescents with individual and group therapy. Ana has experience facilitating groups such as anger management, healthy relationships,parenting skills, partner abuse intervention, and substance abuse. Ana has worked in middle schools and high schools within Lake County assisting children with issues such as anger management, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She often works with adults and juveniles within the criminal justice system. Ana also specializes in counseling those who are experiencing trauma as a result of domestic violence, sexual abuse, or the loss of a loved one due to violence. Ana works with her clients using Strengths Based and Cognitive Behavioral approaches. She chose to become a counselor in order to give back to her community and assist others in building resilience. Ana finds joy in helping others identify and utilize their strengths. She strongly believes in the importance of healthy interpersonal relationships in one’s life as well as strengthening self-esteem. |
